Father: Robert Blades - Panamanian singer, songwriter and Producer. Known in the salsa world for creating and Producing classics such as "Lagrimas" "Poquita Fe" "Detalles" and "Si Estuvieras Conmigo" among many more. BMI Songwriter of the Year, 2000. Grammy Award Winner for Best Salsa Album Producer "Alma Caribeña" - Gloria Estefan, Grammy Award Winner for Best Salsa Song - "Dimelo" - Marc Anthony, Grammy Award Winner for Best Salsa Album as an Artist - Roberto Blades "Encore" in 2002.
Uncle: Ruben Blades - Panamanian salsa singer, songwriter, lawyer, actor and politician. Blades has composed dozens of musical hits, the most famous of which is "Pedro Navaja," a song about a neighborhood thug who appears to die during a robbery (his song "Sorpresas" continues the story), inspired by "Mack the Knife." He also composed and sings what many Panamanians consider their second national anthem. The song is titled "Patria" (Fatherland).
Grandmother: Anoland Diaz (Diaz was her grandmother's artistic surname, not her real name; Her maiden name was Bellido de Luna), a Cuban pianist, singer, and actress.
Grandfather: Ruben Dario Blades, Sr., a gifted athlete, percussionist and later a graduate of the Federal Bureau of Narcotics in Washington, D.C.
With a family history such as this, she has great shoes to fill and a talented name to live up to.
